SOCIETY OF OLD EXMOTHIANS
ANNUAL
GENERAL MEETING
The Annual General Meeting was
held at the School on 7th October last. About 25 members attended.
In her report, the Secretary
stated that the Christmas Reunion held on December 28th had not been quite so
well patronised as in previous years, but the 90 odd Old Students present
enjoyed an evening of dancing to the music of Ernie Payne and his Band.
The Second Annual Dinner of the
Society was held at The Maer Bay Hotel on Saturday, 30th March, and once again
this proved to be a highly successful social occasion.
The Badminton Club continued to
meet during the winter months.
The report of the Cricket Club was
also read.
The date of the 1957 Christmas
Reunion was fixed for December 28th. It was agreed to try and engage Ernie
Payne and his band again for this function.
The Chairman reported that the new
system started last year to make the School Magazine available to Old Students
for a payment of 5/- a year had proved very popular and magazines were now being
sent to Old Students in many parts of the world.
The award of the Old Students
Prize was renewed for the year 1957/8.
