Instructions for users from the Chilly Codgers Club

On this CD there are 3 sets of photographs:-

The first set is in folder, ParsonsPeople/ParsonsPeople.
The second set is in folder, ParsonsPeople2/ParsonsPeople2.
The third set is in folder, ParsonsPeople3/ParsonsPeople3.

All these photographs are high resolution graphic files of type,*.jpg.
You can view these photos with any suitable software application. A copy
of Irfanview, a freeware viewer (that also can play back music in mp3
format) is included in folder, IRFANVIEW. (Run iview_32.exe.)

You can also view the files using Internet Explorer. Version 5.5 or
later is suitable.

There are a series of pages of files of type, *.htm. For the first set
of photographs they are in folder, ParsonsPeople. For the second set
they are in folder, ParsonsPeople2, etc.

Each page, for example, page_01.htm, provides a series of 'thumbnails'
of the photographs. Clicking on these will provide a view of the
photograph referred to. (On the first and last page of each 'gallery'
there are links to the 2 other 'galleries' at the bottom of the pages -
so you do not have to use Windows Explorer to go from one to the other.)

In some cases, clicking on a thumbnail photograph will open an HTML file
that invites you to "float mouse cursor over face for name (if known)".
(This feature won't work with versions of IE earlier than version 5.5.)

You will also find a simple text file, PhotoList.txt with all the
photographs numbered, from P000 to P341. This is intended to name the
people on the photos, but there are a lot of gaps. (This has not been
updated!)

Members of the Chilly Codgers Club were challenged to fill these with the
correct names, drawing on their co-operative memories!

(If any young 'whipper-snapper' remarks that your memory isn't very good,
just tell him that you have a hell of a lot more to remember than he
does!)

If you do not understand how to run a CD - ask any 10 year old!

Because there was lots of space left on the Parsons CD I have added two
folders, one of music recorded in mp3 format. This can be played using
Irfanview. (Open Irfanview and navigate to open the mp3 files from within
Irfanview.) They can also be played using Windows Media Player.

The other folder, StPetersberg contains lot of photographs taken
sometime over the last 5 years during visits.
